Dream House Mostly Completed.

As of June 27th we have very few jobs left besides decorating and moving in. The house needs to be connected to the sewer. The solar panels need to be moved to a better spot for direct sunlight and mounted to the rack. There will be a total of four panels in place. The storage doors for my “shed”, on the front of the house, need to be finished up. There are four drawer pulls to be attached and clothes rods mounted in my closet. After that it will be some cleaning and officially moving in.

Happy it is almost done! Thanks so much to my dad the “contractor”. My mom the staining professional and interior designer. Trish for your assistance in all build activities, but especially for the moral support, and Carter for helping out and making us laugh. Without my wonderful family this never would have been built.

House Moving Day!

We moved the house on June 27th from the driveway, our construction site near the tools and shop, to its permanent home a short distance down the road. The house is basically completed. The moving in process will commense very soon. So excited.

The move went smoothly overall and we only had to deal with one small issue. Using the tractor made the move easy for our situation.

It was a tight squeeze to get the house to the site but we made it.

Almost there!

House all level and blocked. Temporary porch in place. I plan to build a nice porch this summer once I’ve moved into the house.

My solar panels leaning on a support, temporarily. I’ll have four panels located in a better spot for uninterrupted sun. The panels on the frame in the background are my parents power supply as they’ve been off the grid for about 30 years.

Eventually, the blocking will be hidden so house looks more “finished”.

We spent the night in the house. There is a little finish work to be done and moving in will take some time. It has been 1 year and 1 month but I finally have a place of my own.
