Busy Mother’s Day weekend, but we did make a bit more progress. We have the stairs built and sanded. We just need to stain them and complete the loft railing next. I plan to build one more step to reach the lower cabinet height at the base of the main stairway.
We also rounded off the splash guard/couch back by the stove and sanded it nice and smooth. It also will require staining before we are done.
You can see below that we have a good “assistant” to supervise our work. Emmy keeps us in line and moving forward.
We may get this house built yet. Building has resumed after a long hard winter on the hill. We have been working on the finishing of the interior. My dad has been building many drawers lately so I’ll have lots of storage areas.
Today, Trish and I finished closing up a few wall areas as well as began to set up the stairs and marked out the cuts that need to be made with the router.
Also completed recently was the installation of the solar charge controller by my dad. We have connected a few of my solar panels, temporarily, to keep everything charged and ready to use. I will write more about the batteries and solar power in a future post.
We hope to have the house ready for use in the near future and will definitely be utilizing it by early summer. We can’t wait!
